Thursday Nite Adult Art Class

Time: 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Cost: $15 / person
You must be over 21 to attend.

We invite both men and women to join us for an evening of creative fun . . . experimenting with a wide variety of art media, while socially interact with others around you. We even supply snacks to make the evening more enjoyable. GREAT for Girls Night Out or Date Night!

At Smith Studio and Gallery our goal is for everyone to have a positive experience. We begin by teaching you about the art medium you have chosen and encourage you to have fun learning more about the creative process. In the end our participants are amazed at what they have accomplished and leave . . . with a smile on their face, a keepsake, and fond memories of time spent with friends and family.

Art projects can be modified to take into account the age of the participants and time limit of the art class or party. All activities are taught by David Smith, a licensed art educator for over 40 years. The art activitiy starts with David Smith instructing you on how to use the featured art medium, and ends with you following your own creative path. Drawing and painting can be taught two ways:
1. Everyone in the group chooses his/her own inspirational image and is given individual assistance in their creative endeavor.
2. We can take you Step-by-Step through a painting or drawing created just for your group, such as a “Winter Farm Landscape” or  “Still Life Floral Motif”

NOTE: David Smith was recognized by the National Art Education Association as the 1994 Illinois Art Educator of the year, the Illinois Art Education Association as the 2011 Elementary Art Educator and also in 2014 he was recognized as an IAEA Distinguished Member.
